We need an Einstein like character as a mascot/logo for the website and forums as well as another minimalist version for business cards, stationery, letterhead. We also need a smaller/different version for social media profiles.

Since this is a gardening based site, Professor GrowTutor should have a generic plant, either in one hand or near him on a stool or desk

Attached are examples that have either inspired us or that we currently use but want to change.

Main site/forum logo should be approx: 400x400, 450x350 or 350x450 or close but it doesnt have to be exact.

The social media profile icons can be cropped from the main logo or can be different for variety.

Business cards, etc should use a minimalistic design for simplicity.

The real photo is what the big caricature was based on and we love it except the yoyo should be replaced, one hand should hold a generic green plant in a generic pot and the other can either be pointing to the plant with a finger, giving a thumbs-up or using a pointer stick to point to the blackboard which should have some chalk writing and the domain name GrowTutor.com

Also included is the current FB/twitter profile logo that should be changed since it was something just found on the web.

EDIT:
I hate to say it but I've been informed that the design has to be original and even cropping and altering the professor could still be a copyright violation if I even use *parts* of other peoples' work. So he'd have to be redrawn from scratch, even if it looks similar. Editing isn't enough. :(

I hate to say it but I've been informed that the design has to be original and even cropping and altering the professor could still be a copyright violation if I even use *parts* of other peoples' work. So he'd have to be redrawn from scratch, even if it looks similar. Editing isn't enough. :(

  We've already discussed that here, it was the inspiration for Professor GrowTutor. It's also uploaded in the brief as an example file. I don't know the author and I don't have permission to use or edit that one.

I think I need to remind everyone that this contest is a set of 3 images. One similar to the "Professor GrowTutor" entries above, one that is more of a headshot and one very minimalistic for business cards, etc.

I attached examples of some that are close. :D

  You can certainly use it as a reference but I don't know how much it would have to be altered to be used legally. I do love that image though, it was the inspiration for "Professor GrowTutor" becoming the mascot/logo.

One *possible* idea for the blackboard text would be to use gardening words in a scientific/math expression like this:

seeds + water + light + food / time x love + knowledge = GrowTutor.com

(it doesn't have to be exactly that, it's just an example of one possible solution.)

Also one of our taglines is
"You can grow!"
so that *can* be used someplace but it's not required anywhere.

While the idea in my head is fairly specific, bidders are *also* encouraged to submit their own ideas that showcase their own imagination, creativity and skills.

  That version makes him look like a child with grey hair and a mustache (not old enough) and I didn't want the actual words "about gardening" I meant gardening/botanical related words/phrases.
