Stock Emotions Competition:

Select six videos from the ten provided here. Each video depicts a different emotion: "Fear", "Confusion", "Frustration & Anger", "Contemplation", "Happiness", "Neutral", "Surprise & Shock", "Boredom & Tiredness", "Smugness", and "Sadness".

Once you've chosen your material, download the content and get started! Add effects, animation, stock footage, personal footage, whatever you want(!!!) to the background of the shot. Get creative and express yourself. Edit each video into a 10 second depiction of whichever emotion you have selected. Merge your six emotions into a single one minute file and upload it to the competition.

We're looking for interesting takes on human emotion - be silly, be funny, be serious, be tacky, be slick, be whatever feel is right for you! You don't have to be an artist to express yourself! Get outside your comfort zone, test your editing and animating skills and make something awesome! Four winners will be selected to be included in an online gallery and physical exhibition in Melbourne, Australia.

Suggested editing software: Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects. All videos should be submitted in .mov or .mp4 format in HD 720p resolution.

Do you have that footage in raw quality (straight out of camera)? Because of YouTube compression, sharing footage this way is far from ideal, so it would be best to upload original files to Dropbox or some other file sharing service.

  It works, but while audio is in uncompressed PCM format, the video is thrashed to a pulp with less than 500 bit rate :(

Unfortunately, our client cannot afford to increase the prize that substantially as this is an individually-funded Art-based project (that is to say, the key Artist is not being payed anything at all). However, it may be possible to double the prize. This is a great opportunity for exposure as the work will be widely publicised throughout Australia.
