Matlab Automation in external server or cloud

hello, not completely understanding but you'll hopefully clear it out for me, 1. on a hosted machine/server run a process that'll connect through an API to 2. get data into Matlab on the same hosted machine/server, and over thus acquired data run a Matlab script. please clear this out for me, do you: a) require help for 1&2, or b) for setting up the hosted machine to do 1&2, or c) both a) & b)? greets, srdjan

Hello, I deployed other apps on AWS. For this scrips I recommend an EC2 machine. I think they are free in the first year if you don't need a lot of computing power. I'm used to work on linux operating systems and ubuntu. However I'm in doubts about using actually matlab. There are alternatives to it, which are free. Since you are running in the cloud I think you need it to be licensed. So instead of licensing it i think I should use octave. The framework supports usually matlab scripts. However there might be no support for some over complicated functions. I hope it won't be the case here. How do you expect to have the result returned to you after the script is run ? A good alternativee is email. Do not hesitate to contact me by using the instant messaging tool.
