Description of Payroll Specialist:
We are a staffing agency seeking a payroll specialist on behalf of a top entertainment company.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have great interpersonal skills.
The Payroll Specialist will oversee payroll administration, monitoring all the organization's payroll processing objectives, relationships with external auditors, and state and federal agencies. Payroll Specialist reports to Controller.
Significant knowledge of payroll administration is a MUST, including state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities for Payroll Specialist include but not limited to:
Prepare and analyze bi-monthly payroll using ADP
Audit and review timesheets for accuracy and completion
Prepare manual checks for exiting employees
Advanced knowledge of federal and state wage and tax regulations
Year end reports
Prepare Ad Hoc reports as needed
Analyze, prepare, and input semi-monthly domestic payroll data.
Produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
Set up and monitor regular tax filings with various jurisdictions and entities.
Process garnishments and wage withholdings.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
Perform compliances for outstanding payroll checks.
Perform Benefit allocation worksheets and journal entries
Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.).
Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
Cut manual checks ad hoc and for exiting employees.
Update and reconcile monthly bank statements from ADP.
Import files received from HR.
Answer employees questions regarding any payroll issues.
Manage payroll process for international locations.
Other duties as needed
