Hi i can help you , recommend working with Atxmega128a4u for first or two cpu is same Atmel family but better chip and included one RF433 module for good comunication you need one received usb RF433 too. i have similar works and i can send one prototype in fast time, estimated time 2 weeks for finish( included USB SD and Bluetooth / RF433 and 6 ADC or 3 diferential ADC special works for datalogger ) Working with Bascom or Studio 6. Hi, Your project can be done with CC1111 - 315MHz ~ 915MHz RF transceiver from TI. It should give you a few hundred meters for the link. As a bonus it has a USB controller so can go straight in PC port. There is also a dev dongle form TI - you don't need to develop PC side (~$50). The remote part can be build on the same chip for simplicity or on CC1110. The temperature measuring circuit - 3 chips ADS1120. Each of them can measure 2 thermocouples (the most power saving sensor for temperature) and have power down current <8uA. Another option to use thermistors and connect them straight to CC1111's 12 bit ADC. To reduce consumption to feed them with a switch. I don't see why you need ATmega328. I would like some more information about your project. What model are the temp sensors? ATmega328 is the Microprocessor used in Arduino so can the Arduino environment be used for developing the solution ?

Hi, i am an electrical engineer and i can design this project as i already have designed microcontroller based wireless sensor network. I am expert in PIC microcontrollers and i will use PIC for this project which is equivalent to ATmega328. Here are my techniques. At transmitter side: 1- There would be a PIC microcontroller with 6 different inputs for temperature sensors. 2- An LCD which shows the temperature from each input so that you can compare the results. 3- An Xbee(series1) wireless module would be interfaced with microcontroller through UART for data transmission. At Receiver Side : 1- there would be a USB Microcontroller (PIC18f2550) for USB communication. 2- An xbee (series 1) wireless module interfaced with microcontroller. 3- A PC or Laptop connected with the receiver via USB port. 4- A GUI software for laptop to show the received values. the main theme of the project is that a transmitter microcontroller will measure the temperature for 1-6 input probes, display it on LCD and then send the values to Xbee wireless module via UART (RS-232 standard), this xbee will transmit these values via wireless techniques. the receiver Xbee will receive these values and forward them to USB microcontroller which will modify them and send them to PC/Laptop via USB port. i will implement this project on hardware and can supply this hardware to you on your demand. if you have any question or need any information, please feel free to contact me.
