Hello, In my business it is often practical to prepare the base of walls with compacted aggregate. To do so, a human operator manually manipulates a pneumatic tamper or a pneumatic vibrating plate before the formwork is put in place. I would like detailed engineer design drawings for a semi-autonomous movable gantry pneumatic tamper using off the shelf hardware, available in the USA with the following operational ranges: Y Axis Range: 0' - 24' functional (please design it scalable in 6' sections) X Axis Range: 0' - 3' functional (please design it with automatic stops every 6" off center that can be used to limit range of motion) Y Axis Range: 0'-24' functional (please design it scalable in 8' sections") Please use A/C assumptions for all electronics. I do not want a complex computer interface for this iteration but rather a simple control system that can be set to repeat movements within project specific ranges based on the physical placement of certain sensors or simple control panel. If it helps, imagine a CNC moveable gantry router. This will operate similarly but instead of having a router motor it will have a pneumatic tamper and be limited consistent pattern along the pre-set axis'.

Hi. Here is how I imagine it after a short consideration. As I understand X is the axis along which the whole gantry moves, Y axis is along the beam connecting two carriages (correct?). So, 24' is approx length of the beam. Beam consist of 6' (or 8'?) sections, in order to be scalable. A carriage holding the pneumatic temper moves along the beam by a steel cable moved by some motorized pulley with an absolute encoder (or may be just limit switches on both ends, speed always constant?). Wheels of the whole gantry or their actuators have sensors or encoders providing signals for 3" stops. Electronics I would make on ARDUINO controller, so no need for designing PCB, it's functionality should be more than enough for such simple task. Controls are just buttons and LEDs. In such configuration it would be completely within my expertise. I'm an electronic engineer with 7 years of experience in 3D modelling using SolidWorks. Good technical background. Experience in 3D printing, manufacturing drawings. I'm ready to discuss details by messaging before starting, contact me if interested.
