I have an existing flash movie which is a US map. The map is configured using an XML file which contains the colors & links when a person clicks on a state on the map.I need two modifications to this map. Both require actionscript 2.0 coding.
#1) The XML file reference is hardcoded in the Actionscript. It looks like this:
var xml_file:String = "[login to view URL]";
I need it so that the XML file location can be specified as a flashvar
#2) Inside the XML file, there are individual entries which specify where the user is linked to when they click on a particular state. An example might be:
<Alabama name="ALABAMA" url="/location/[login to view URL]" target="_self" upcolor="0x969698" overcolor="0x060c3c" downcolor="0x060c3b" />
So when the person clicks on Alabama, they are redirected to the page: /location/[login to view URL]
What I need is to be able to trigger javascript on the hosted page. For example, I need to be able to do something like:
url="javascript:goState('AL')"
This mean when a user clicks on alabama, then the javascript function goState() is called on the page with the parameter AL.
This should be a very simple task for somebody who is knowledgeable in FLASH and ACTIONSCRIPT 2.0. I have all the original source code (FLA file).
Greetings! I am expert in actionscript 2.0/3.0 which will be very useful in getting your project requirements. Glad to bid your project. Please see PMB for more details. Thanks!
