Graphics File Format

I have 10-bit color .dat files. I have vb code to convert them to 24-bit standard uncompressed bmp files. The code does a great job except for 2 picture elements: EKG tracing (left to write waving line tracing) and vertical cursor line. Both of them are converted to BLACK by the current code. Please review the downloadable attachment to see what color it is supposed to be from the "correct" final result files. The output files are supposed to be 640 x 480. The bitmap data in the source file however, seems to be 640 x 482. The additional 2 bytes may be control character or actual picture elements. Never checked and code actually ignores it! The bitmap data in source file starts at 4812 and ends at 415692. There are thus additional bytes before as well as after the bitmap data. I don't know if those portions of the file have any "picture" elements or picture related information. I need the programmer to study the source files and the attached code and fix the code to solve the above problem.
