RPG Game design

I want you to imagine an MMORPG game such as Runescape, World of Warcraft etc, but as a text-based game. It's sort of weird to think about. For example, I imagine the chatbox as the channels being tabs with a single line textbox and container which contains the chat log in the bottom right, the main UI can be floating so only the main content of the website will change. You can see I'm the image below. The yellow is the UI. It's fixed and floats as you scroll whereas the main content box in the middle stays still. The following must be on the page at all times User statistics My idea for the health and mana is that they could be orbs that are filled depending on your health/mana, the XP a bar. These don't all have to be in the same place, they can be separated. Though separated appropriately. Strength, Vitality, Magic, and Dexterity, for example, should be grouped together. Health - Red color Mana - blue color XP - Green unless it's double XP then it should be gold. Level - this must be able to cater for up to level 9999 without looking cramped Username Player attributes Vitality Dexterity Magic Strength Tertiary skills Cooking Crafting Fishing Must leave room for this to be expanded. Notifications / Messages may be a nice little drop-down menu like Facebook, when you click the globe a box appears. Menu There is a main menu that should contain the following links; Home News - catch up on the latest news and updates. Forum - forum for users to discuss things Messaging - should probably also have a number next to it indicating how many messages you have. A link to town - this is an odd one because normally it would go to another page with another list of links, imagine a 3 column, 2 row table that contains 5 links in each cell. It would be great if we could somehow inline this. Battle Clans Overview Manage clan Clan events Clan forum Clan statistics Rankings Help - Links to a helpdesk and FAQ. Rules - Modal will display with the rules Profile - takes you to your profile page Settings - takes you to your settings Again the menu must be flexible for new items. Chat There are several channels a user can be apart of; Global This channel can be spoken in by everyone Private Filter for only private messages Group When in a group there should be a channel Clan Each clan has their own channel which is only visible to them I would imagine these would be tabs with a chat window below - this needs to be resizable so the design should indicate that this is possible.
