I am a 3rd grade teacher. My students are addicted to agar.io. The problem is [login to view URL] FFA is packed full of cuss words, hate messages, inappropriate symbols, and many more things 3rd graders should not be exposed to, especially in a school environment.
I would like to create a game similar to this (smaller objects get eaten/absorbed by bigger objects) that has students playing this game, but in individual classrooms/rooms/boards with the incentive that it incorporates a quiz review aspect. For instance, students could move to the four corners of the game board or random safe zones where they would get a random multiple choice question that the teacher (or another student) has set up beforehand with a maximum of 20 questions. A bonus of 10 items eaten if they answer the random question correctly and they would continue on to enter other corners.
I have setup a sample Dev site on the IBM Bluemix servers and it seems like a pretty solid system to work with using this clone written in node.js - [login to view URL] . I have asked Huy Tr for help with this and though he likes the idea a lot, does not have time in his schedule.
[login to view URL] I suppose I would like to move away from some of the Agar elements, as I want to avoid their trademark items, and strict mechanics, and have a little more custom graphic design elements, and/or at least differentiate the look a little from Agar. I am very open to suggestions you may have of this.
I do have an iOS Developer account and would like to roll this out on as an app as well.
A quick optimal walkthrough - a teacher would create and account, (possibly add students) and be able to create a room, and add their questions and answers for the four corners or safe zones, and then get a link to share with their students to play in. - Leaderboard for size and questions answered. They could also make their room "public" so students from other places could join, and/or other teachers could duplicate the room/questions for their own use and/or keep private. For instance, if I created a Southeast Region room, and made it public, another teacher could duplicate it for their own account, and make it private for their students, but they would not have to re-create the questions. Students do not necessarily need accounts, only the link to play in and possibly the private rooms could be password protected as well.
I would love to see a portfolio of iOS game development. I am willing to price this out in phases if the scope of the work goes beyond the budget.
Hi there!
It looks like you want a web-based game for young kids. The game should be highly interactive. Since students don't need to create an account, hence there will be only one type of account; Teachers. Once the teacher creates a game in a room, he/she must be able to share it via some public link to others. Private room must have a password. Other teachers should be able to duplicate rooms for personal use.
I would suggest this application to be built using node.js. It is highly scale-able and portable. It would allow you to publish it in IOS as well in the future.
If i Understood your requirements right.
