We are building a sports tuition system based on sensors that is designed to help athletes improve through data. The sensors measure the athletes body dynamics through the use of motion and sensors transmitted to a custom designed app.
The success of this product heavily relies on our ability to manage, evaluate and interpret the data to draw appropriate conclusions on the improvement opportunities for the golfer.
This project is to analyze the data of several golf swings and make statistical conclusions on the following factors and relationships:
-To understand the link between shot dynamics from the system to the shot outcomes eg slice hook straight shots. Definitional note: a hook is a curved shot to the left for a right hander and a slice is a curved shot to the right. (Task #1)
-To understand the link between the physical diagnoses by a qualified coach of the basic faults in a golfers swing to the Ultima system metrics (this will be a comparison across the database of all swings that have a diagnosis). (Task #2)
-To derive a method of comparing an individual’s swing to a number of pro swings to identify the closest swing to that individual. (Task #3)
