Isles' Website Redesign

Isles, Inc., a 31 year old nonprofit organization in Trenton, NJ is undergoing a website redesign project. An opportunity exists to re-engineer the site to better reflect the mission of the Isles and incorporate the latest web technology. Upon completion of the development of the site, Isles will assume full responsibility for web site content maintenance and administration. All content, coding and graphics will become the sole property of Isles, Inc. Deadline for receipt: Proposals must be received before 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Development Guidelines • Easily Updated – Once the site has been completed and accepted by Isles, the site will be maintained by Isles • Isles strongly prefers the use of open source tools. • Common theme and consistent design, as described in powerpoint attachment. • Development of web pages to accommodate the proposed navigation scheme. • Isles uses the [login to view URL] nonprofit starter pack as a database and process automation tool. Any website design should done so as to not preclude future interfacing with SalesForce. • Isles should be able to track use of its website through Google Analytics • Possible future use of a content management system should not be precluded. • Provide search capabilities using key words or phrasing that will identify content from throughout the site. • Project Management – An assigned project manager will be made available to present information and coordinate with Isles staff, including a reasonable number of meetings to present design and development solutions. • Once the web site has been completed and accepted by Isles, the web site design and all of its contents, software and architecture become property of Isles. • Site must be launched no later then December 31, 2012 Site Specifications: Your proposal must account for all of these requirements. • Site must be compatible with Microsoft, Google, Apple, and Mozilla (Firefox) browser versions currently in use. • Site should be compatible with common mobile systems (IOS/Android/Windows) • Web site must not require plug-ins as a default. • Site must be built in accordance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 , provided by the W3C and should also be easily accessible to the novice as well as the experienced Internet user. • Fast Loading Pages – The web site must be designed with a balance of text and graphics such that each page loads in 8 seconds or less on the average computer (using a 56K modem). A not-to-exceed fee for services should be provided for the entire project proposed. We expect that the entire cost of the project will range from $3,000 - $5,000. Proposal Structure Please provide a concise summary document that includes the following: a) Responding Company Name, Address, and Contact Information b) Describe the ownership structure of your firm. c) Proposal fees and payment schedule d) Names and credentials of individuals who will conduct the planning process e) At least three references, one of which must be from a nonprofit f) List the five web sites your firm has produced that best reflect your work and relevancy to this project. Briefly list the role your firm played in each project. The URL should be submitted. Only sites that are live will qualify during evaluation. g) Describe your experience in producing sites for non-profits, especially multi-service nonprofits. h) Briefly describe your firm’s organizational capacity to produce our web site (e.g. staff, equipment, software, physical space, office location, etc.). i) Discuss your approach(es) to meeting Isles’ requirements. This discussing should cover tools, methods, ongoing usage and should demonstrate a good understanding of Isles’ objectives. j) Please discuss your testing, implementation, and support plan.
