Improved user registration upload function for active site

[login to view URL] is an operating browser-based system using php and mysql for its main operation, with other functions using JQuery and Ajax, for example. The original version was a plug-in for Moodle, but an independent browser-based system was developed in 2012. There are about 100,000 active student users on the system in over 40 countries. The software, however, is FREE for users, so the sponsoring organization, The Extensive Reading Foundation, has limited funds for improving the system, thus we are using a step-wise, modular approach. The user registration system is a major problem since it lacks appropriate data validation functions and the non-techie school admins for the site often make errors when uploading new users (either teachers or students) and assigning them to classes. We wish to create a more user friendly upload system which allows the user (school admin) to verify the intended upload contents before actually uploading the data. The new code will validate all fields and flag any data that does not conform to the defined specifications, and then give the user the opportunity to fix the data before the actual upload takes place.
