I am professional developer with 3+ exp, I actually checked for the API and its code, but couldn't find it, well basically its not public, they just happen to have created as per there need and accidentally named *compute-price* to api call.(as API call parameters and Response is different for each site) Well I can do those calculations for you, because you definitely have some pre-defined price set for each type of attribute of an product, so we simply have to put them in logic according to your attribute. And we can create our own api to do that.
