Create a WinForm search control in C#. Design a combo-box like control with an active search function. The control source would contain multiple columns. On key, the control should show multi-column records containing the search phrase, like in Google search. Different columns might have different data types and might be either integer or string. For text searches, the search phrase should be matched not only at the beginning of the text, but also in the middle of the search text: e.g. entering “sour” should match record ”this is a source text”. Latency of the control is essential. One way to solve this issue would be to set-up a parameter where we can set the minimum number of symbols (e.g. 3) entered before searching the entire source. Please let me know if there is a more effective way to handle this. When sorting results, records starting with the search phrase should have priority over the records that have search phrase in the middle of the string. Deliverables for this task would be a C# source code for a WinForm or Infragistics control.
