Setup a Linux file server + SMB

Hello, I have rich expirence with Linux (+20 years). I installed my first Samba server a long time ago (as NT4 Domain Contoler to repleace Novell Netware 3.11 :). I manage Linux servers at my daily job for internet/office/enterprise use. I can prepare full documentation for thisproject. You can look at my blog or this new way (for me) of sharing knowlege: [login to view URL] and [login to view URL]~dev-null. But unfortunelly may experience with Linux guests on Hyper-V is limited. I ran few VMs on Server 2016 and didn't had any issuses. One bonuse I know about Linux on Hyper-V is no licenssing issues.

I have been managing around 400 vms (windows and linux vms) through Windows hypervisor. We are using SCVMM to manage the VMs. I am an expert in scvmm 2016, sccm and scom. Hi, I have experience in managing hpux, Solaris, and linux flavors like Redhat and Ubuntu, where Ubuntu being less. But the concept of AD integration and Samba is same across all platforms. Regarding issues running Linux on Hyper-v, i didn't noticed anything critical except few glitches on secure boot/EFI. May be i am not come across specific issue. Even i have Redhat servers running Microsoft SQL server 2017 on top of Hyper-V core 2016. Coming to the project, i have experience on integrating linux platform with AD and samba shares. That network share will have some kind of a special purpose (e.g. storage for redirected profiles) or it will be just regular share with Windows ACLs? There are some minor issues like e.g. when doing live vm backup filesystem may get marked as corrupted if there are undergoing operations on files and fs will require fsck.
