The catalog-application reads and saves daily (or more often per day) amazon-catalog-data (german ebooks) and compares them to the data read the day before (compare price, rating, number of pages, filesize).

Mainly it compares the regular-sales-price with the actual sales price and it looks if there are price-changes.

The products for which the application indicates price reductions are remembered as “reduced products” and the ones where the price increased are remebered as “raised products”. Those products are than in status "to be verified" by our autor/editor.

The application also has to compare user-ratings and the sales-rank of amazon for each product.

The backend has to send a email to our autor/ditor when a new list of products is ready to be checked in admin.

By a admin-tool our autors/editors may be able to browse the automatically prepared selection-list but we also must be able to enter additional products (product details are also read by ASIN from amazon).

Our autor/editor must be able do browse this list of products (the price-reduced ones or edited ones) and a editor views each product and selects or un-selects it.

Also the editor must be able to add products by entering the ASIN (and the applciation fetches those products and added them to the daily selected list of products).

The editor also must be able to assign selected/featured products to a general list of categories (those categories are different from the amazon ones - so managed in our admin).

Also the editor selects which products become part of list of the top-email-featured-products - allow the editor to enter a ranking-number so that he can control in which order the features products are shown in the email newsletter.

(note: the email is sorted by categories and so the registered user get the products only which belong to his selected preferences/categories).

When the autor/editor has verified his daily-list-of-featured-products that the application has to search thos products in iTunes store (by API) and in some other shops like [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view] and others by browsing the website.

Each product found in any of those shops will get a affiliate link to the detail-page of the shop where it was found.

Users have to register at our catalog and have to select the categories they are interested in.

Those register-data you remember by a cookie so that the user which visits our catalog is automatically logged in and so see the products related to his selection only.

Allow the registered user to change his preferences at any time.

In our catalog the user can browse the daily-list-of-featured-products by category.

Daily email newsletter

Daily (between 5pm and 8pm) the application has to send a email with the top-email-featured-products to all registerd users.

The catalog-application must support what we name whitelabel-feature. This means our catalog can be added/included to any other website (we select some partners). There our applciation has a new logo/design (runs on a subdomain), but the catalog-data and the users-database exists once, but the users registered by our whitelable-partners have to be marked, so that we know where from the registered user has come.

The e-mails sended to those users of a whitelabel-partner have a different template (layout). The newsletter has the CI of our whitelabel-partner.
