Homepage design for startup ready to launch

The Company [login to view URL] is based in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario (home of RIM). The team consists of co-founders Stavros, journalist/business guy, and Ebrahim, developer, as well as a current co-op student in computer science from the University of Waterloo. [login to view URL] connects journalists and people with expertise to share with the media. A dating service/LinkedIn vertical it is referred to. The idea came from Stavros’ work as a TV producer, he thought there must be a better way to find people to interview. There isn’t. Stavros and Ebrahim met at a start up event and quit their jobs a year ago to work on [login to view URL] full time. Recently completed explainer video (1:30): [login to view URL];feature=[login to view URL] The co-founders live about 1h30 minutes from each other. We know how to work with a team from a distance and respect the opportunities and drawbacks of working from in different places. The Project Design a compelling homepage for our new site. The job includes reviewing the other new pages we have already built to ensure they are consistent with the new homepage. This new homepage is for launching the actual service (current site was built a year ago). We have a good sense of what we want, but we need someone who can bring these components together and give it a great feel. We appreciate that this alone is a valuable skill. - all the text for the new site is finalized (it’s minimal by deisgn) - explainer video linked to above will be the centerpiece of the new site - we have the media logos that need to be on homepage - not looking for a lot of custom artwork in order to keep costs down - have Balsamiq mockup of homepage We want someone with a sense of minimalist style to give the site a crisp contemporary look. Our goal is to build a long term relationship with someone as we lack web design and development skills in house as more work will be need. Consider this the first project so we can test each other out. We are open to everything later on including a possible late co-founder for the right person. We appreciate talent.
