I am planning to improve all of the pages on my site design wise (except the currency and mortgage section). I do not have a very tight brief, so in addition to my requests I am also looking for a designer/ you to take the initiative and show me where you thinks things can be improved. I can tighten up this spec but hopefully this will be enough for you to quote and make a start thereafter.
There is one website [login to view URL] and I quite like many aspects of their property details section, and these are the main pages below that I am looking to improve. This site is mainly to give you some ideas for the property search, search result and property details pages.
In terms of general design and the overall feel of the site I really like this one - [login to view URL] (see screenshots 'Design Likes for the bits i particularly like).Their use of images at the top I like, and I thought I could perhaps use this as a menu format for my site at the top of the About Us, Contact section etc (clearly we would need to use smaller images, France based, but it could work).
And I also quite like Chesterton Humberts here: http://www.chestertons.com. I
My comments/ design request are below, and they are relevant to the attached screenshots. I will try and break it down into different sections.
The design changes will need to be made for the desktop site but also the mobile site.
· Image1 refers to the search page which covers these two (basic and advanced search). [login to view URL] I have no real guidance for this one, except can you make it look for modern and contemporary. Perhaps a greater use of the Healey Fox dark purple.
· The next section refers to here: [login to view URL], and I have also added two screenshots (image2 and image 10 - one from our site and one from [login to view URL]). I have circled the areas on their site that I like, which you could implement in your own way on our website. Their bit that says ‘Favourite’ I would like to call ‘Coup de Coeur’. I also like the border around the photo. My web developer is also going to be adding some details to this section, and this is where you come in, as some properties will be marked with the following and to the left of the words I need you to find an appropriate symbol. These are: Views, Near Amenities, Secluded, Rural, Income Producing and Waterside (these will sit in the red circled area).
·This refer to the actual property details here: [login to view URL] Image3 to Images 14 including all in between. In image11 on the My-French-House site, I like all their circled areas, and yes we will also have a need for a Pinterest and Facebook icons.
·Image12. I like their use of blocks. We could have two blocks, one labelled ‘Key Features’ and the other ‘Outdoor Features.’ Outdoor features are the ones with the ticks in image3, and key features are all the ones with Purple bold writing.
·Image6 – I do not like the way the currency text and logo are presented.
·Image 14 – I like the border they have put around the map.
·Now any changes you make to the desktop site need to be added to the mobile site (not all but implement as many of the changes as you can in the best way you see fit. Images 20 to 29 show the mobile site. Image 20 and 21 are My French House.
· Image22. I am not keen on the design of the circled buttons. Please improve.
·General Comments: The desktop site needs a greater use of our dark purple.
Please can you also quote for a modernisation and redesign of all other pages on my website, except for currency and mortgages (mobile and desktop versions required).
My web developer will need the new designs deliver in PSD format.
My aim is to fine someone who is a really good designer and who can re-design my website, and deliver me the designs in PSD format. My existing developer will take care of all the integration. So my aim is to find someone very creative with excellent design skills, rather than coding skills.
