Actually the project involves OpenIndiana but its close enough to Solaris to not be an issue. I have iscsi services served via comstar and I have luns setup on zfs zpools. I need to review my iscsi setup to see if it is appropriate. remove a zpool and a disk. Add a different disk and recreate the zpool and the iscsi lun. I then want to connect from vmware esxi from two servers. I would also like to connect from a windows 7 desktop and use the iscsi volume as a backup disk. Pretty easy, should only take an hour or two.

I am a certified Solaris admin, and have 15 years of experience. Alos worked with OpenIndiana. The expectations are pretty straightforward, it will be an easy task. Btw. if you intend to do bare metal restore of windows 7, then I think iscsi is not the best solution as a backup target.
