I need a user friendly application created to analyze data from simple surveys and define compatibility for a school fundraiser.
The surveys will be taken from students on a scanable form and transferred into simple database form. (excel,access) The information provided will be the students name, age, grade and sex. Also, the answers to 30 questions (A-E) from the questionnaire.
From the raw data I want to be able to match students \\\"compatibility\\\" rankings based on their answers. i.e.- students with similar answers close to 100% are more compatible.
The form needs to output:
School name on all forms
Function/club/organization who is sponsoring the fundraiser
Student\\\'s Information
Top 10 most compatible in school (all grades)
Top 10 most compatible in designated grade (9-12)
Top 10 least compatible in school (all grades)
Top 10 least compatible in designated grade (9-12)
Any other data that can be easily adapted from the results such as any other student with the same name, how many students in school are younger/older, how many days old you are, number of lists you appeared on in school/grade.
My aim is to have two forms printed per student. One for the entire school results and one from just their particular grade. The interface should be fairly easy to understand and manipulate such as the use of check boxes or buttons.

Ideally the program used is with common software such as excel or access but other that are easy to acquire will be O.K. also but run them by me before you decide to use that program.
Finally, a batch printing must be an option so all forms can be printed for each student.

This sounds like a job for Crystal Reports rather than the complexity of a full blown application
I would use Access and/or Excel. I would also use Java, JSP, and JDBC. I can host it if you do not already have a website that supports java.

Your project can be best done on FoxPro. As I have done several Data Entry software which are more easy to use in FoxPro (off course if you are not bothered much about GUI). After all the Result is what matters
