Aluminum extrusion is a complex process of manufacturing a profile with specific cross-section by which a material is forced through a die. The most important parameters which are responsible for the extrusion process are Die Design, Alloy used for manufacturing, temperatures of Alloy, extrusion die temperature and Container temperature of extrusion press. Hence Die design and process design needs to optimized and validated for the each extrusion profile. Finite element analysis is an important tool do validate the die design and process parameters prior to the manufacturing. Hence it will be help to optimize the die design and process parameters which ultimately reduces the industrial trial and chances of failures of dies. Simulation of extrusion process will be very helpful tool for die designers to improve there die designs also helpful to production engineer to get the desired production output.

In aluminum extrusion, presence of friction at container-billet interface largely contributes to the velocity gradient during flow of metal through the container. This normally results in bending or twisting of the profile. This paper presents a simplified approach based on simulation technique for generating bearing curve of an unsymmetrical profile.
