Raja Guru Business Development Manager Encl: Please find enclosed write-ups of our ASD methodology & project experience for your kind perusal. ASD Methodology The Application Software Development division follows stringent software development and quality standards, backed-up with strong & comprehensive project management skills. Necessarily, the software development life cycle follows the steps as below: 1. Requirement gathering: Understanding the client©s business and related needs is of prime importance and forms the basis for our software development life cycle. A major part of the requirement-gathering period goes into study of present business, new requirement, consulting & suggestion for changes, present infrastructure of the client (software & hardware available, systems followed, adaptive-ness of client©s staff to changes, etc.). Based on the above factors, feasible and optimal solutions are suggested. A detailed proposal is drafted outlining the scope of work, skill set involved, estimated period of development & deployment, and related costing. Of course, not to mention the Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that we are open for exclusivity in areas where the business intelligence of the customer is indigenous. Once the proposal and NDA (if required) is mutually agreed upon, we follow the 4-D (Document, Design, Develop, Deploy) methodology for various stages of software development. 2. Document: The inputs provided by the client and subsequent discussions form the basis of our documentation. The documentation briefly outlines the technology (architecture, IDEs, back-end database, components, etc) that will be utilized, the various modules of the project (further segregated into screen-level design to give the end-user the comfort of the final look & feel of the software), and validations required at each module©s screen level. 3. Design: With the prepared documentation, a detailed system design and analysis is conducted. After the documentation stage, the design for architecture (whether web-based or client server based, n-tier, etc.), subsequent database design, screen-shots or web forms (as the case may be) is completed. The database design is based on full functionality of RDBMS features like data integrity, data constraints, relationships between tables, normalization, etc. 4. Develop: The development of the project is the most critical stage in the software development life cycle. Here, the modules are assigned to respective module leaders (based on their capabilities and skills in handling similar projects and past experiences), who, in turn, segregate each module to screen level. Based on the initial screen level documentation, development of the project commences. Each developer is responsible for coding as per the standards set by the company viz., Hungarian Notation, naming conventions, in-code comments for future reference / modifications / enhancements, etc. After completion of the coding stage, the developer creates test cases, test plans and test outputs for unit testing of the screens allotted to him. Once these tests are cleared, all the modules follow integration & performance testing and stringent quality control & assurance tests. All this is completed under the able guidance of an experienced and qualified Project Manager. 5. Deploy: After passing the quality tests, the project is deployed at the client©s site(s). Wherever necessary, essential hands-on training is provided for the end-users to improve their comfort-level with the new software. The test cases, test plans and test outputs are handed over to the client for his testing the software. 6. Customer Support: The above completes the 4-D model of the software development life cycle. We provide continuous support (via, e-mail, 24 hour online support through messenger or at the clients© place), complete documentation (including user manuals, training manuals, E-R diagrams, data dictionary, etc.). On mutual consent, we also undertake Annual Maintenance Contracts for various software support, including change management and impact analysis. ASD Project Experience 1.
