Hi, I need a logo designed for my business.

The trading name of the business is “Second Telling Missions”
The tag line is “Change the course of history”

About the business:
• It runs “escape games” where teams of 2-8 players are given a mission in which they must solve a series of puzzles within a time limit (usually an hour) to achieve a certain objective.
• The games have a strong focus on story and storytelling. Each story centres on a particular piece of non-violent history, for instance the democracy protests in China in 1989, the Solidarity movement in Poland in the 1980s, and the revelations provided by Edward Snowden. Our first games will be based around the White Rose group, which published anti-Nazi leaflets in Southern Germany during the Second World War.
• While the games are set within specific periods of history, the scenarios of the games will be fictional, asking the question “what if such-and such happened?” For example, although in reality the members of the White Rose group were all arrested, one of our games will have the players on a mission to prevent the rest of the group being arrested after the first two members have been arrested. “Second Telling” is a reference to this counterfactual nature of the games, the “what if…?”
• The games are entertainment, but we hope people will learn something about the actual history through the experience of playing. The players will be debriefed about what was factual and fictional within the game.
• The games will often utilise actors to help give a sense of immersion in the stories, and we will also use professional set and sound designers to the same end. Looking at it one way, we could be classified as interactive theatre.
• The “second telling” part of the name also has the sense that each second is vital.
• Our first location will be in Sydney, Australia, but we may expand nationally and internationally.

Brief:
• The logo needs to be original
• There should be a version of the logo that includes both the business name and the tag line, one that includes the business name but does not include the tag line, and one that is simply the logo
• It is preferable that the logo can be printable in black and white
• The logo should be in landscape orientation (i.e. not square)
• The logo should be able to be printed on a range of material including window decals, business cards, letter heads, brochures, websites and signs
• The background should be transparent, so I can easily use it on business cards/websites etc.
• There should also be a reversed type option, so I can include the logo on a dark background (e.g. a version of the logo may be white)

Technical:
• The logo should be supplied as a high resolution AI or EPS file at 300DPI, so that I can modify it in the future if needed. In addition, PNG files should be provided.
• If you are selected, you should also provide the fonts you have used.

I don’t have any particular guidance for what the logo should depict, although I have a slight preference against clocks showing ticking seconds. There are already plenty of escape room businesses using clocks as their logos. It might be better to somehow focus on the more unique aspects of our games - the non-violent history, the interactive theatre.

One idea I saw also had the font kind of worn, like time had damaged the letters a little bit. Perhaps this could be tried more too?

Hi everyone, thanks for your entries so far. Some ideas after seeing them: I like the idea of taking the letters S, T and M and making some kind of puzzle out of them; I also would like to see something revolving around the reflection from a mirror (the 'two sided' aspect of 'second telling'), or around the two masks of the classical symbol for drama (with a twist towards puzzling or history). I would also like to see some more attempts to incorporate references to history in an elegant way. Thanks!
