I have a python proof of concept that I need made into a web app: [url removed, login to view]:cfcv:pr0nsweeper

My web skills aren't very strong and I want someone to translate it to a web version. I would like to keep it Python based. From my very limited reading Django is probably the direction I want to go but I'm open to suggestions.

Basically what it boils down to is:

-Produce clean/readable, commented code that a non-web person can hack on

-Minesweeper like application

-Need to blend an image onto the grid

-Support mouse click behavior as specified on the page

-Support keyboard shortcuts as specified on the page

-Responsive: no noticeable delay between clicking and square changing

-Image and grid state provided by backend server

-Be able to submit the modified grid back to the backend server and get the next task

-Reference Python code provided to communicate with the backend server

If the pilot project goes well I may contract further instead of developing the full app myself

To clarify above: there are three components to the system:
-A frontend UI similar to minesweeper
-A backend server in something like Django
-A third party xmlrpc server (already written: no work required)

For an idea of size: the PyQt proof of concept is about 350 lines and uses some functions from a utility library that's about 250 lines.
