Fading icon in Netscape and IE

I need some code written for something. I'm redesigning our home page. I have five images that act as hyperlinks. When you place your pointer over one of the five images, it fades revealing an image behind it. So, we're dealing with a total of six images. 5 front images all revealing the same background image. see: [url removed, login to view] This works in IE but not Netscape 4.9. Is it possible to develop such a code as in the link above and acheive the same affect in Netscape 4.9 AND IE? This link has an effect that does work but it is kind of reverse to what I want: [url removed, login to view]
