Modify existing Magento website and build iOS/Android App - along with better backend

INTRODUCTION:

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this document is to modify our current website and simultaneously create an iOS and Android app for the same. The goal is to better the customer experience and improve our backend operation systems for a faster and more efficient day to day process. The main idea behind the goal of making the website and business tech friendly is to reduce time and resource wastages while servicing our clients.

SCOPE:

With sustainability being a core value of the business. We need to put forth that value into our operations and into the overall design of the website.

WHAT CAN BE WORKED ON (BACKEND):

- Order taking process: A standard online orders only (either through web or app) procedure needs to be followed. Currently, a lot of our orders are placed on whatsapp or over the phone. We need to be able to generate orders from the backend for those customers as well.

- Notifying Customers: Need to have a system wherein the customers can be informed by automated SMS’s or notifications (from the app). Notifications such as what’s not available, order totals, delivery tracking systems, what will be available the next day or if there are any deliveries next day at all.

- Generating and Changing Invoices

- Accurate ERP system

- Accurate CRM tools

- Use of paper: With the Magento backend in the picture, there can be a system implemented wherein the use of paper can be avoided by feeding in information to the back-end as and when the order is being packed. This not only makes the process less manual but also reduces unwanted paper wastages.

- Driver’s app: This is an app that let’s our customers track the ZAMA van for delivery purposes. They will be able to see who the driver is, where is he currently located, where is he supposed to head and where are you (the customer) located on the delivery route.

- Mail Chimp: This would be a great extension added into the back-end of the website that let’s ZAMA send out automated emails to the customers/subscribers regarding newsletters, promotions, recipes, stories

- Subscription model: An incorporated system wherein the customers will be able to make a produce basket with their respective items. Should be able to select the quantity of items, delivery dates, frequency of deliveries and at the same time be able to add into/edit the basket 24 hours prior to delivery taking place. This system would also incorporate the above points of including DriversApp, MailChimp and an SMS portal for the same.

- Inventory keeping: The inventory of the items available and unavailable shall be kept and updated on the website through automation. This helps the customer know what’s available, in stock, supposed to be pre-ordered or not in season.

WHAT CAN BE WORKED ON (FRONT END):

- Home page design: ZAMA is all about sustainability, eating healthy organic food and pursuing a healthy lifestyle. A website home page is the first thing that a person sees, the first impression that it should create should be of simplicity and elegance. The brand values must be incorporated into the design and functionality of the homepage. Here are a few reference screenshots that could help in understanding the situation better.
