The work involves getting names of candidates in the previous elections in various cities/ jurisdictions in USA and Canada.
STEP 1. GET THE RESULTS OF THE LAST ELECTION FOR A CITY. To get the results of the last elections in each city, search for date of last election in that city. google “name of city+election year+municipal election results. For example to get the last municipal election of Jacksonville, florida held in 2019, you google “jacksonville, florida municipal election results 2019”.
In each ward, you should get the names of all the candidates who failed –i.e from number 2 up to the last one. Don't include the winner.
STEP 2: GET THE CONTACT OF EACH CANDIDATE
You can get the contacts of the candidates by googling –their websites or social media such as facebook/twitter. You go to “About me” in these platforms to see if you can get their emails (the most important contact info we after). You may also just google “john doe contacts” nor john doe email”. If you find phone and @twitter also include please . So the excel should have column for phones but if you find only email, that should be sufficient. If you find only phone, try scraping further for email before giving up. Even if you do not get contact of a candidate, leave their names on the list with those empty contact spaces –do not exclude. It is easier for me if you quote your rate per number of records than per hour.
