I've uploaded a resume I need corrected or redone on a more professional level for a student from France looking for an internship in the U.S.A. Also needing a generic e-mail that can be copied and pasted to send to different universities. Looking for that professional touch to maximize chances of being accepted. Here's the draft of our version of the e-mail. Looking to summarize everything and make it a lot shorter:

Dear ,

I am currently a student at the Paris School of Urban Engineering (Ecole des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris) from the Gustave Eiffel University, in France, in which I began in 2020 after 2 years of preparatory class for the competitive exams.

I’m contacting you today because I am looking for a study and research internship in the USA and particularly the for its environmental specialization in civil engineering. Since last year, I’m very interested in sustainable construction and urbanization. My 2021-2022 year of study is focusing on sustainable conception and water management in construction, a field I really appreciate. That’s why I would like to learn more about sustainable systems and materials in a resilient city.

My internship would have to be with a professor and/or with his team for a period of (at least) 12 weeks during the summer of 2022, after the end of my 4th years of study.
This internship would be a way to develop a specific field of study that I am interested in. I looked on the studies researchers are working on in the CIR, and the green stormwater infrastructure research you and your team are working on draws my attention, such as the concrete purifying water research of one of your colleague. My ‘sustainable conception’ class and ‘Hydrology’ class confirmed my choice this year. Moreover, I can easily adapt my internship requirements to the need of a research professor.

Since your department is specialized in civil structure and environment and seems to be very diverse in this field, it would be ideal for me. Furthermore, I’m curious about environmental aspect in urban places, thus I am very motivated, a good listener and I would like to give my best on a research project.

I already had 2 internships. One was with the gardeners of the district XIX of Paris, where the main goal was the safety of the workers. My most recent one was with Enedis from EDF (France’s and one of the world’s leading electric energy companies) for management experience.

So, if a teacher needs help with a project study, I would love to be able to help.
