Get Comfy
For baby’s comfort, make sure you’re holding her at about a 45° angle in order to minimize the amount of air she ingests while taking her bottle. Holding this angle without support can be quite tiring; using a pillow to prop up your arm is a great way to hold baby properly and save your arm from exhaustion. About halfway through the feeding, you can even switch sides in order to give baby a new view and keep one arm from bearing the brunt of the entire feeding.
Make Sure You Top Off the Tank
Babies know when they’re full and a bottle-fed baby will normally turn away from and avoid the nipple if she’s full. Your little one (under six months of age) should be taking about 2.5 ounces of formula for every pound she weighs during a 24-hour period.
