BLOCK FTP USERS OUTSIDE THE COMPANY

The actions to take depends on the linux distribution, if you use any firewall and type of the FTP service used. If you use Debian or derived distributions, I can help you.

Talk to your IT guy and have him block incoming packets on the FTP port on the firewall, whatever port you have the FTP server using. He can set it up to block all incoming packets except those that come from inside your company net, and have that apply only to the FTP server itself. It is basically a one line command in a linux firewall script. If you're running windows, then I can't help you...
