We did a backup/restore system in PHP for the tables of the MySQL database of a customer before without having to use a terminal or open a shell session to execute command line (but we can do so if available and required). We also configured a cron task to trigger the backup frequently and clean the old backups. Is your hosting allowing PHP? If yes, for compression, is the zlib enabled in your hosting? Otherwise, we can work with shell commands, so is shell/terminal available in your hosting? Best regards
