write program to collect serial data, parse the data and send to server

we are upgrading our hardware, our new hardware is;

- Digi ConnectPort® X4

- for this device, i need to have a program written in Python

the purpose of this program is;

- to collect serial data, parse and send up to our server.

we currently do this using a Java based app running on a PC, i can send you the java source code if that will help.

i have the hardware online and you can remotely access if that is helpful.

let me know your thoughts.
