I work for a production company that's trying to get #1 on a few search engines for our name. It shouldn't be too hard... we're only #3 now, and the ones above us are not really that relevant.
The site, as it is, I generally built (in flash), and in order to combat the relative unfamiliarity with Flash that search spiders face, I built a separate HTML infrastructure, loaded with core text and keywords, for all of the key "pages," with each page using a simple javascript function to direct the user right back to the flash main page if visited. This, of course, is all to provide the Googlebot, for instance, with something meaty to browse at our site.
The main page is heropicturesinternational(dot) com, and my HTML infrastructure is at heropicturesinternational(dot) com/HTML
The HTML infrastructure mainpage already has an XML sitemap, and I submitted both sites to Google already. You might need to disable javascript in your browser to see the HTML framework.
If it's not already obvious, the company's name is "Hero Pictures," and we would enjoy being at the top of Google, for instance, for users typing in "Hero Pictures." We would also be interested in being #1 for users typing in our name, along with one of our projects (each project has separate HTML page).
