Sell something for me

The marketing of (successful) online professional development courses to english-speaking teachers in countries outside Australia. I am an education specialist with 20+ years experience as a secondary teacher and 8 years experience running professional development courses. During the last 5 years I have focused on creating and running multiple online courses to secondary teachers in Australia. These have been extremely well received (approx. 1000 participants in total) Courses have global appeal (none specifically relates to Australia; they are pedagogy / technology based). Details: I need people ‘on the ground’ who live in the region/country where their sales will be made. Ideally start end May 2014 or before. The gig will likely run for several months and possibly beyond 6, if project successful. Courses run 4 times / year; starting dates and details (including testimonials, feedback, promo videos, website) will be provided. Most courses are for mathematics teachers. 8-week courses sell for $US250; 16-week courses sell for $US370; payments up-front by credit card, purchased off a provided website. A full money back guarantee is offered, with conditions. I am prepared to phone decision-makers from schools if required. Obvious markets are Canada, US, UK and Singapore. Marketing to a small region may be preferable to a whole country. I will not hire more than one candidate to market to any one particular region at any one time. No corporate approaches! No social media marketing campaigns! (Social media marketing is in progress; this brief is unrelated to that.) My focus is success based, not price. Candidates: A successful candidate will likely have some of the following: Experience in direct marketing. Some inside knowledge of a school system/s in their local or wider district Inside knowledge of how the purchasing of professional development for teachers is funded within a particular district and how it occurs The willingness to make contact with the decision makers in schools or districts. NOTE: Someone with limited marketing experience but with a working relationship with a series of schools may be ideally suited! To apply for this gig: Explain your plan in writing. Minimum Targets (based on hourly rate only; approx $150/wk) Target One - first 2-4 weeks: Market research. Detailed logging of results. No sales expected. Hourly rate and approx $150/wk. Target Two - second month: Further market research, more contacts gained and recorded, 1 course sale thus far (1 participant into one course) for every $US100 paid to you during Month Two. (e.g. if I have paid you US$600 during Month Two and you have made 6 sales then you would be on target.) Target Three - third month: 2 course sales (2 participants into one course each) for every $US100 paid to you over the Month Three. (e.g. if I have paid you US$600 during Month Three and you made 12 sales during Month Three then you would be on target.) Target Three - Months 4-6: 4 course sales (4 participants into one course each) per US$100 paid to you during months 4-6. (e.g. if I have paid you US$1800 in Months 4-6 and you made 72 sales during months 4-6 then you would be on target.) Further targets beyond 6 months subject to review. Targets to be modified if freelancer chooses part commission. Project Breakdown: Should you be a successful: I’ll look at your plan and break it down into short-term achievables using the minimum targets bullets above as a guide. You will be required to keep a detailed log of your progress. Payment for the initial ‘Market Research’ phase will be by hourly rate. After that I am happy to pay hourly rate or negotiate a retainer-plus-commission, or commission only. If after any period of time I don’t feel this is working out then I reserve the right to take you off the project.
