For my latest employer I have built a new application server infrastructure completely based on AWS. - Mysql Database in RDS - Application code in Github - continuous integration testing with CircleCI - continuous deployments via OpsWorks (code deployment and server config automated with Chef recipes) - file storage in S3 - SQS queues - Server monitoring via CloudWatch with sms alerts - auto-scaling on heavy load - ELB load balancer for SSL - identical (and independent) test and production environment I also know how to work with BitBucket (I've used it before for other projects). I firmly believe such a solution should be self-supporting and self-configuring. Using AWS OpsWorks this can be achieved. This way you can add and remove servers with the click of a button. All server configuration and setup will happen automatically. Off course I will document the solution with schema's, configuration info, setup, access and troubleshooting guides.
