Dear Sire,
I was just checking your website, and well...yeah its not that catchy nowadays when people scream for a total audiovisual brainshock all the time.
So as i don't know what are your ideas, let me tell you what i would do with the sites design if it would be mine.
First i would move the blue search bar up into the header area, would also remove the header backgrounds width limitation, so it would fill the screen (same with the footer).
I would also reorganize the menu a bit and would add the categories appearing under the menu into submenus in the top menu bar, so all navigation would be accessible from one place, without the need of scrolling (as most people now already searches ebooks right on their tablet.
so as the menu is compressedthe featured ebooks can jump a big right under the menu, where we could implement some nice javascript dynamic featured slideshow, to give those visitors that audiovisual shock i was mentioned, so they can see it moving and be woved (i don't know why most people want even free sites to look as shops, but i think they got addicted to those nice moving ecommerce style sites , but what can we do? follow their needs.
I would also add some google fonts to your css to pimp the layout even a bit more. Oh and before i forget....i would place your social links also somewhere in the header area, as that annoying slider drives most people nuts, and only appearing on the front page, whats well....not so effective, as i bet many hits you get directly to category pages, where they simply cant find an easy like option.
As i don't know if youre site is on some CMS system, or its full custom php (my bet is on the CMS answer, but can't identify which one is this), but if you want more traffic -> more income from your site, then some deeper social networking integration would needed. I would also add a staff picks featured blog, so we could have some awesome CNN like newsroll as well on the mainpage, but for sure that need human resources, and i have no idea about the staff size behind the site.
What i could deliver you:
A frontpage design, category page design, single content design with full xhtml/css. Integration to your actual site on request can also be a part of the negotiation, but as i don't know what system you use, i can't say anything on that.
I hope this is the kind of message you were waiting for. If you choose us, you take no risk, as you dont pay if youre not satisfied, its this simple.
I Hope to hear from you soon
best regards,
Krisztian (Overground Team)
