I am looking for an Android AOSP developer with experience with CM/LineageOS to building a custom-rom/firmware Project Details: - device is based on MT6580A - current firmware is only available as binary and working in 98% of cases - we need to improve it, but vendor does not exist anymore - I need to recreate from scratch the firmware with Google's Android sources and with mediatek drivers around it. [login to view URL] We can share you a fresh Ubuntu 22.04 or any other Ubuntu version required on a system to run the code. It is required to have multiple years of experience with Android Firmware development and packaging for Android Watch If you have also experience in Android Watch / WearOS Firmware development, particularly with Android Wear OS, I would love to hear from you. Please provide examples of your previous work in this area. The milestones for working: ms0: after award we go into a call and discuss about best approach to get control back to be able building the rom / firmware ms1: recreate the firmware from source to be able to deploy on the devices ms2: upgrade to latest possible android version for MT6580A msX (later): if you managed to get this far, you will be the preferred candidate to assign you all the customization work for our wished features. E.g. to implement based on user behavior to save energy with specific energy hungry periphery From this milestone on, we will require mandatory NDA Deliveries? - in our on premise git (access will be granted to you) - full sources - compiling & packaging preferably via docker - maven or gradle - preferably JDK 11 or 17 Requirements: - fully documented process to package, create, complile and build - clean code - code checked with checkstyle, pmd, spotbugs Payment? - you estimate in a WBS after getting the task - we discuss about clearances and effort - we mutually agree to effort - we assign you the task after agree - you implement & delivery - we pay (basically the rules of freelancer) Closed book vs open book? We work only on open book. Closed book means you are unwilling to define a WBS for the work and you add only a price tag to the task. We are sorry we will not hire you in such a case! budget? we do not disclose the budget, but we know how much time such a task requires.
