Detailed report of routing in communication networks

Assignment Description\r\nFor this assignment you need to provide a detailed report on the importance of routing in communication networks and the various roles of a routing network device including security aspects. Give a literature review on routing and security mechanisms for varying networking technologies, but focus on Internet related technologies. In addition to the literature review you are required to complete some routing and access control list (ACL) configuration using an appropriate simulation tool. Specifically, you need to successfully configure dynamic routing with RIP, OSPF and EIGRP for IPv4, as well as static and\r\ndefault routes. In addition to the dynamic routing, you will configure two types of Access Control Lists on your network. You need to have a working network with the necessary security when you complete all configurations. Describe your scenario and your selected configurations. Configurations will be considered incomplete if any device is missing or has a misconfigured IP address, subnet mask, password, interface description, ACL definition, banner text etc. Use screenshots and clear descriptions for your implementations.\r\nYou be assessed on the following skills:\r\n1. Configuration of ACL to limit device access.\r\nYou need to submit a report describing how you have succeeded in achieving all of the above, using necessary screenshots to support your descriptions. Moreover, critically evaluate the effectiveness of the networking protocols and solutions used, e.g. EIGRP and ACLs.
