How do you plan on the RPM limits being changed? I would be very interested in working with you on your RPM warning project.

Also worked with micro controllers such as msp430. About your project I can design it with an Arduino or MSP430 or pic MC all with a LCD to track changes for initials with 4 or 2 buttons. How do you propose to change the setpoints? On a pc with a USB-cable to the arduino? With buttons, rotary-encoders or potentiometers? Do you want to display it on a display? Anything is possible.

what kind of proximity sensor are you taking about could you able to give more details about that...please...
