Below is an original example of my travel writing. I am well travelled and currently residing in Hong Kong. Dublin If you plan to visit Ireland you must spend some time in its remarkable capital city. Steeped in history, Dublin is Ireland's cultural as well as administrative hub. It is the city of poets and authors. James Joyce, Brendan Behan and more recently Roddy Doyle all lived and wrote in this remarkable city and a tour of its famous pubs will give you some semblance of nostalgia for the old city and the intellectuals who have called it home. Try a pint of draught Guinness in one of the City pubs and enjoy some rapport with the locals. The Irish love to talk and they are famous for the 'blarney' - the ability to embellish the simplest tale into a saga of drama and intrigue. Start your Dublin trip from the famous O'Connell Bridge where it spans the River Liffey - a bridge unique for being wider than it is long. Amble up O'Connell Street and visit Trinity College, that famous centre of learning which is now over five hundred years old. Enjoy the pedestrian shopping area around Grafton Street and head to Temple Bar if you want the Dublin night life. If you are with your family and the weather is kind, head out to the nearby seaside resort of Clontarf. Dubliners are friendly folk who love to help. Start your Irish trip here and ask the locals about attractions elsewhere in this unique country. You won't be disappointed.

Here is my sample The best time to go to Greece depends on your age. If you are young at heart and you like to be in the middle of the crowd and love the extreme warm weather, than August is your time. August in Greece means all the Greeks are on vacation as well, they love to enjoy. The tavernas will be open late with live music and good food and the beaches will be covered in beautifully scantily clad sun worshippers during the day. The shops will be full of all kinds of temptations from the latest in fashion to the best food Greece has to offer. Try the octopus, a local delicacy and surprisingly delicious. Those who enjoy quieter moments visiting the beauty and intrigue Greece has to offer will prefer September when the crowds have gone and the sun is a little more forgiving.

Hello, I am currently travelling South East Asia (and loving it!) and looking to get my career started in travel writing. I have travelled to almost every country in Europe and I have been to many in Asia. I have been travelling for many years and I am very knowledgeable about culture, food, transportation, costs, etc. I have written an article tonight as an example of my work. Away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok lies the small island of Koh Tao, where backpackers and holiday makers alike take to the white sandy beaches with coconut drinks in hand. The island is a tropical paradise with turquoise waters where snorkelers and divers can be found searching for the thriving coral reefs and the rare sighting of a whale shark. The island is known for its crystal clear waters, however many treasures can be found along the coastlines or inland too. Exploring the island by motorbike is a great option which allows you to visit one of the four viewpoints located high in the jungles. Yoga retreats allow you to feel the true serenity of one of the most peaceful islands in Thailand. The small town on the west coast boasts stalls filled with unique souvenirs, handmade jewelry, and clothes. Koh Tao is an island suitable for any budget: delicious street food can be found for a small price or if suited for your budget, fancier seafood restaurants line the waters edge. From the north west side of the island, Koh Nang Yuan sits in all its beauty, just a short boat ride from Koh Tao.

Additionally, my anthropology studies as a student at UCLA have given me a passion for learning about culture that has influenced my travels greatly. I just returned home from a trip to Los Cabos, Mexico on Wednesday--a trip that had been postponed since last year due to Hurricane Odile. In typical fashion, my trip trip was a mix of high-end and low-end travel. My husband and I flew Alaska Air from LAX-SJD, a very quick and easy 2-hour flight. After clearing customs we deftly avoided the time-share salesmen offering promise of cheap excursions and breakfast buffet in exchange for a "short no-obligation presentation", proceeded to the taxi window where we purchased shuttle tickets for $14USD each and walked out the doors of the airport and were greeted by warm, tropical air. Since we had 15 minutes until our shuttle departed, we decided to take advantage of the outdoor airport bar and ordered a couple of cervesas to refresh ourselves...
