Hello, I would build this solution as two components: the android application and the web server. SERVER: I would recommend setting up a RESTful interface between your android client and database for handling authorization, authentication, and fetching data from the database. This layer allows you to control what the user accesses in the database, how it is presented, and to choose specifically which queries get run on the server. I would query the database using a library that avoids SQL injection. The server should be over https so passwords sent are encrypted. The API would look as such: https://domain/login with post body: { username: "myname", password: "Passw0rd"} If authentication is successful, saves a token to the database and puts { token: CAFEBA... } into user's session. Authentication tokens would expire after 1 hour. The second api would provide an interface for an authorized user to query data and would have the token in the post body. The name of the api and parameters it would take would depend on the kind of data being accessed. https://domain/fetch/value with post body: { token: "CAFEBA"} (I kept this api purposefully vague, if your project moves beyond POC you will want to change the names to something more descriptive. ANDROID APP: A native UI with a login screen, a means of inputting values when logged in, and a means of displaying values. I would use Javascript (React Native) for this application. It would sanitize data from the db.
