This is a quick work for experienced Javascript programmers. 1) I need an HTML page where I drag and drop files from the desktop. When files are dropped, a tree view is created using their path information. 2) For each uploaded file, if the file extension is .txt then I want to look inside the contents of this file and check if it has the keyword "testing" inside. 3) The data used for building the tree view is stored on the local browser cache, I want to view the same data on the next time that the browser opens that HTML page on the disk Libraries to be used: a) Tree view: [login to view URL] b) Drag and drop: [login to view URL] To clarify, this work is intended as pure Javascript. There is no server side processing involved. Hi captain! EDIT 2: I made a working version. A video is available here: [login to view URL] please provide feedback. Please choose my bid as I am willing to work cheaply and quickly. I also have knowledge in the subject area and have already begin research / development. It is impossible for security reasons to get the local path to a file from a browser drag / drop, so I would need clarification on what "path information" to use. The drag and drop API you suggested won't work as it only supports uploading the file to a server, however I have already implemented client-side file drag and drop with jQuery. EDIT: I take back the statement on path information, on Webkit browsers only file paths can be found relative to a directory.
