Apart from choosing a distro, there are possible deployment options we can discuss whatever is best suited for you. On the machine that has Windows already installed, you could dual boot it with one of the Linux distros and set up QEMU/KVM on the Linux host, with other Linuxes as guests of that Linux host. Or completely install Linux as only host on the machine, install QEMU/KVM on it and have Windows as one of the guests in addition to the Linux guests. For this your Windows ISO must be available. You will get a small hit on your native performance for Windows. QEMU ( without KVM) can be installed directly on Windows and this QEMU emulator can run the Linux guests. This will run a bit slower but the advantage is you could continue using Windows and get native performance for Windows. Other important consideration is the number of cores and memory you have on the machine. Preferably at least 8 GB to get a satisfactory performance for QEMU/KVM with multiple guests.
