Configure Recipient Address Verification on an Exchange 2010 Server

We have a Small Business Server running Exchange 2010, and we have Dynamic Recipient Verification enabled. I doesn't appear to be working properly, however and is failing to reject invalid addresses when they are passed to it. I need someone with expertise in Exchange 2010 to resolve this issue for us. Will be working on a production server so verifiable experience is a requirement. Please note, I have attempted to configure this, twice - and whilst it appears to have worked both times, invalid addresses are still accepted so either I have made a mistake twice, or something else isn't working, so please only bid if you are confident and experienced in diagnosing Exchange issues - if it was as simple as following the guide I'd have done it and it would be working!
