I have some online software that I have been using for about a year to help my students learn English I have a lot of upgrades that I want done and I have been slowly getting them done through sites like this, however programmers come and go and it's a lot of work explaining everything from scratch each time, plus the code is getting harder and harder to work with since so many different programmers have worked on it So I would like to find someone who can commit to the ENTIRE upgrade and also stay in touch for further upgrades in the future. The programmer should also be a good coder with good commenting and framework skills so if they DO dissappear I don't have the same problem in the future (ie the next coder cant work with the old code because its too messy) I had hired a programmer last month here on Elance but he failed to complete the software and he had major problems with basic logical thinking, making TOO MANY basic mistakes. I had to dispute the job and get my money back, I sure hope I don't have to do that again. Please note, to qualify for this job there will be a TEST. The test will see whether or not you have the ability to understand the logic required to complete this job. I have attached the document which outlines the features the existing software already has AND the upgrades I want done. A trolley is about to stump on a kitten puff. :) Hello. I'm very interested in your project, however your price range seems a bit low, for a project of this size, to me. I won't lie to you, I just perused over the files, didn't read them full. There's too much information, which is good on one side, but it's out of the question for bidding. My purpose with this bid is to let you know that I'm willing to study further your proposal, look all the videos, research whatever is needed to understand the technique used to teach, and finish the project to your satisfaction. My part-time (4 hours) fee is USD $500 / week. If you like the idea of having a permanent developer but cannot afford that then I'm open to discuss alternatives like less hours or intermittent work. I think there's no point on starting from scratch if the software is working. I perused the code and saw pretty much disorder, but they have used CodeIgniter (a framework). Also database looks sane to me on a first look, at least I didn't see ugly newbie mistakes there. I can give you a deadline now as I didn't dig on this but I believe it will take several weeks for completion. Please tell me if you like the idea of working by weeks, defining a set of tasks to be delivered at the end of each, and if you like my quote or want less or full time, so I know if it will worth my time to involve myself deeper.
