lost cd/dvd-rom on Acer notebook

Can somebody help me getting back my DVD-Rom? I have an Acer TravelMate 620 notebook with an internal drive: Toshiba DVD-Rom SD-C2502 The problem: I don't know how I managed this (please don't ask, because I really don't know) but the drive isn't there anymore. There is no drive D: When I open the device-manager where all hardware is listed, there is a yellow warning. When I doubleclick the entry the window opens where is written that this device is not working because Windows can't load the driver. I found drivers for this driver, but also when I install the driver I still don't have any drive (E:/). C: and D: are partitions of my harddisk. It is really very strange and it seems that the best idea would be to just reinstall the whole OS. But hell, I don't want to reinstall the whole OS just because I lost that stupid cd-rom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can somebody help with this? I attached a few screenshots, please check them out. I think this started after some stupid antivirus software (Norton) deleted some files which it said were infected... but I think some of those files had been vital for the OS to work well. However, the OS works just fine for me. One thing is that missing dvd-rom. Also I can't start TaskManager. When I right-click on the clock for selecting entry "taskmanager", nothing opens. Another problem I faced was some error like "don't have enough rights for deleting this regkey" when I performed the instructions which I found on the microsoft-website. I don't remember the URL, but Microsoft offers some solution in case of missing/lost cd-/dvd-rom. Unfortunately, when following those steps one of them was deleting a regkey.
