Must have Python 3.6 running on a Mac, please include this in your message to confirm.
My Python software uses youtube-dl to index channels for video-ids and captions, and use the captions to preview the corresponding video ideas for user-inputted search terms.
Currently, I am having two issues when working with the YouTube channel [login to view URL]:
-When searching for words that are expected, no results are found (erroneous). This is likely because the channel only returns .vtt files, not .srt files, when indexed. The files seem nearly identical.
-Indexes returns a list of playlist-IDs, not video-IDs as expected. This prevents the software from mapping subtitles to video IDs for preview purposes. The expected format is included attached. I believe youtube-dl has this available in settings, though unclear.
These issues do not happen with [login to view URL], likely because it indexes differently and includes the expected .srt caption format.
I would like these problems fixed.
I currently think the problem will be fixed by updating the software to interpret .vtt files, and to index the video-IDs.
