Hi. First thing to do is to give me the website url and have a look at it. The xmap is just a sitemap plugin and has nothing to do with your dublicate links. Since your links are indexed by search engines you have to redirect them through sh404SEF to their canonical link. If you create an article and automatically dublicate then you have an issue with the sh404SEF component. Your site should have only sef urls and not urls with wildcards.
