What we need:
Quotation software for contract manufacturing – gives a price for CNC machined parts based on certain user submitted parameters
Material
Quantity
Level of finish
Users enter this data and input a 3D drawing file
Software needs to read certain file types
Stl, stp, igs, prt, solidworks, xt
From this need to calculate part weight, dimensions and volume
Costs are calculated: Material costs (type of material x dimensions) + Machining time (equation involving dimensions and volume, i.e larger dimensions lower volume = longer machining time) = cost of part
Combined with the user submitted data the price is calculated
Currently there are online versions of this kind of software by other companies

The software we require does not need to be web based - it can be on our desktop and we upload the files ourselves.
Web based is also ok.
